“I believe that ‘yes’ is the only living thing.”
—E.E. Cummings

This is Tip #5 (of 7) in my Wholehearted Living Series. You’ve done a lot of work so far! In the last 4 Tips, you have gotten snuggly with your Past Lives and embraced your Human Super Power – Choice. You’ve started practicing and feeling Gratitude, and most recently, in Tip #4, you started listing your Core Emotional Values. It’s time to take some more action! Here we go.

November 12, 2018 By Tara Moorman, PhD

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.”
—Helen Keller

This is Tip #4 (of 7) in my Wholehearted Living Series.

In the little bit of time we’ve been together, you’ve celebrated your past lives, you’ve taken ownership of your superhuman power of choice, and you’ve started looking inside and outside at all the things you are grateful for. You may have even started FEELING gratitude! All three of these activities were meant to prepare you for today’s challenge – identifying your deepest emotional values.

Emotional values? What? Aren’t values things like being kind, telling the truth, loving others? [Read more…] about Identify the Feelings You Love the Most

Inner Growth is Like a Spiral Staircase: There’s No Elevator to the Penthouse

November 12, 2018 By Tara Moorman, PhD

spiral staircase
“Growth is a spiral process. Doubling back on itself, reassessing and regrouping.” —Julia Margaret Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way

“Life is a journey up a spiral staircase; as we grow older we cover the ground we have covered before, only higher up; as we look down the winding stair below us we measure our progress by the number of places where we were but no longer are. The journey is both repetitious and progressive, we go both round and upward.” —William Butler Yeats

I remember when I first decided I wanted to change. I had a destination in mind, and that destination was called, Best Self. I didn’t really know what the path to Best Self looked like, but I think I rather imagined that once I pushed the Best Self button, I’d be off and running in a straight shot to the top (Best Self was always up). I wasn’t completely clueless about Best Self. I had a list of things that needed to change in order to get to my final destination. I needed to react less and respond more, I needed to stop lying about my feelings, I needed to stop being a coward in relationships, I needed to be less dependent and attached. Generate the Feeling of Gratitude RIGHT FREAKING NOW!

October 29, 2018 By Tara Moorman, PhD

Gratitude
“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is Tip #3 (of 7) in my Wholehearted Living Series. In Tip #1, I talked about celebrating past lives, how every breath you’ve taken so far helped to land you here. In Tip #2, I talked about how every single moment contains a choice – YOURS!

So…this is an easy one, right? Of course, it is. Even if you have, in the past, taken things for granted, it should be easy, now, at this stage of the game, to look back and see the things that you are grateful for. It should be even easier to start a daily gratitude list. Taking stock. Adding to your list every day. Seeing the glimmers.

So, start there. Get out a journal, open a tiny notepad, pop open your tablet or your laptop or your phone….jot down the things you are grateful for today. It’s good stuff. [Read more…] about Generate the Feeling of Gratitude RIGHT FREAKING NOW!

Learn to See Your Super Power — CHOICE

October 15, 2018 By Tara Moorman, PhD

Choice
“There’s always always a choice. My options might really, truly suck, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a choice.” —Jim Butcher, Cold Days

This is Tip #2 (of 7) in my Wholehearted Living Series. In Tip #1, I talked about celebrating past lives, how every breath you’ve taken so far helped to land you here. Now I want to take an even closer look. Not only is it easy to moan and cry about our difficult, even ugly Past Lives, it’s also really easy to fall into the Victim Boat and tell ourselves it’s all because of someone else or something else or someplace else.

Believe me, I know. I was Princess-Captain Victim of the USS Victim for a long long time. [Read more…] about Learn to See Your Super Power — CHOICE
